Print isn’t Dead is an independent magazine that embellishes at all things print. Showcasing print-makers, designers, illustrators, typographers and artists from all over the world. Each issue uses a different typeface providing a platform for type foundry’s worldwide, helping to shape the style and art direction. Coupled with a changing colour palette the design and production of the magazine is a great example of the capabilities of print itself.
Element 003 used HP Indigo digital printing to take the idea of the cover to another level. A website was created to allow the readership to submit their own text to the cover, which was then individually type set by James Lunn making each cover truly unique. There were over 400 personalised cover options designed and printed using white ink onto Sirio Black Fedrigoni paper, each with its own unique time code and address on the reverse.
In addition to this international artists and designers (karlssonwilker, Zut Alors!, Hubert & Fischer, Studio Yukiko, Ian Stevenson, Hansje van Halem & Eike König) were invited to produce a cover in a limited edition of 50.
